1. To ensure children experience consistently safe, high quality care, play and learning experiences, the childminder should update their practice and procedures to align with best practice guidance. This should be used to, but not limited to, support approaches to assessing risk, self-evaluation and continuous improvement. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which states that: 'I have confidence in people because they are trained, competent and skilled, are able to reflect on their practice and follow their professional and organisational codes.' (HSCS 3.14)

To continue to improve the service and outcomes for children, the childminder should access training to develop their knowledge and skills in order to ensure that children receive high quality care.
