Recommendation 1

1. The provider should ensure that care plans clearly outline the outcomes individuals are working towards and how these are achieved through the support provided. This would help to strengthen trauma-informed care practices and ensure support remains person-centred. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I experience stability in my care and support from people who know my needs, choices, and wishes, even if there are changes in the service or organisation.' (HSCS 4.15).

Recommendation 1 Met

1. The provider should ensure care plans take a more personalised approach by clearly highlighting individual's achievements, preferences, and the support needed to reach their outcomes. This would help strengthen trauma-informed care practices and ensure support is tailored to the person. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I experience stability in my care and support from people who know my needs, choices, and wishes, even if there are changes in the service or organisation' (HSCS 4.15)

Recommendation 2 Met

1. The management team should ensure the staff team have access to complex mental health training to help staff further enhance their knowledge and skills. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: “I have confidence in people because they are trained, competent and skilled, are able to reflect on their practice and follow their professional and organisational codes.”(HSCS 3.14)

2. The support will be provided by one staff team to the Shetland Isles area.

3. The provider shall inform service users and their representatives that the care service is registered with the Care Inspectorate and shall ensure that they are made aware of the name of the registered service with its contact details, as it appears on this certificate.
