Recommendation 1

1. To support high quality experiences and meet children's developmental needs, the provider should streamline how children's progress is assessed and recorded, in partnership with families. Personal plans should be reviewed at least every six months to ensure they remain current and responsive. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which states that: 'My personal plans (sometimes referred to as a care plan) is right for me because it sets out hoe my needs will be met, as well as my wishes and choices.' (HSCS 1.15).

Recommendation 2

1. To ensure the service meets legislative requirements and delivers high quality care, the childminder should implement effective quality assurance processes. This should include regular self-evaluation and ongoing improvement planning, carried out in partnership with parents. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance processes' (HSCS 4.19).

Recommendation 3

2. To ensure children's safety and wellbeing, the provider should consistently record all accidents and incidents and regularly audit these records to identify any patterns or recurring issues. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'My encironment is safe and secure' (HSCS 2.17).

Recommendation 4

1. To ensure the service is following and implementing appropriate legislation and best practice guidance, the childminder should carry out a comprehensive review of policies and procedures, including risk assessments, in line with legislation and guiding principles that underpin the day to day running of the service. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'My environment is secure and safe.' (HSCS 5.17). and 'I experience high quality care and support based on relevant evidence, guidance and best practice' (HSCS 4.11).
