Requirements & recommendations
1. To support positive outcomes for children and families, the childminders should develop self-evaluation and quality assurance processes. This should include but is not limited to: • gathering and using children and families' views to inform change • developing a self-evaluation process to support improvement • accessing development opportunities to support their knowledge of best practice guidance and updating policies to reflect this. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement, with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance processes' (HSCS 4.19).
Conditions of registration
1. The care service may be provided to a maximum of 6 children at any one time under the age of 16, of whom a maximum of 6 will be under 12, of whom no more than 3 are not yet attending primary school and of whom no more than one is under 12 months. From the 26 January 2011 up to the 30 June 2011 only, the service may be provided to a maximum of 6 children at one time under the age of 16, of whom no more than 4 are not yet attending primary school and of whom no more than one is under 12 months. This part of this condition applies for a maximum of no more than 3 days per week.
2. Overnight service will not be provided.
3. The garden area situated at the front of the property will be supervised at all times when used by minded children. The garden situated to the rear of the property will not be used at any time with the minded children.
4. The parts of the premises not to be used are the bedrooms, situated on the upper floor.
