1. By 25 October 2026, the provider must ensure that people can be confident that standards of good practice are adhered to and drives change and improvement where necessary. To do this the provider must, as a minimum: a) ensure that quality assurance checks and audits are consistently completed; b) where areas for improvement are identified, incorporate these into the service action plan; and c) evaluate audit completion and outcomes. This is to comply with Regulation 4(1)(a) (Welfare of users) of The Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Requirements for Care Services) Regulations 2011 (SSI 2011/210). This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement, with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance processes' (HSCS 4.19).
1. To promote safe practice with medication support, the provider should ensure that people can be confident they receive support in accordance with safe administration practices. This should include, but not be limited to, ensuring that staff are trained in best practice medication support and that consistent audits, including follow up, are in place. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'If I need help with medication, I am able to have as much control as possible' (HSCS 2.23); and 'I experience high quality care and support based on relevant evidence, guidance, and best practice' (HSCS 4.11).

This should include, but not be limited to, ensuring that sufficient staff are recruited and deployed to meet each person's assessed needs. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'People have time to support and care for me and to speak with me' (HSCS 3.16).
