Recommendation 1

1. To ensure that children are safe and protected from harm, the provider should make sure that staff are safety recruited and inducted. This should include, but not be limited to, ensuring all staff working with children have submitted an application to register with the regulatory body within three months of staring employment. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state," I am confident that people who support and care for me have been appropriately and safely recruited." (HSCS 4.24).

Recommendation 2

1. To keep children safe the provider should ensure secure entry procedures to the premises are in place and maintained. This should include, but is not limited to, p reventing children from exiting the building unsupervised and p reventing unauthorised individuals entering the premises. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which states that: “My environment is secure and safe” (HSCS 5.17).
