Recommendation 1

1. The manager should take on board the findings from best practice guidance, The King’s Fund Environmental Assessment Tool, which helps develop more supportive care home designs for people with dementia, to ensure the service remains dementia friendly. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS), which state that: “The premises have been adapted, equipped and furnished to meet my needs and wishes”. (HSCS 5.18)
