Recommendation 1

1. To support children’s creativity and curiosity, the provider should ensure staff are using skilled interactions with children, including open questions, to extend children’s thinking and widen their skills through play. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which states: 'As a child, I have fun as I develop my skills in understanding, thinking, investigation and problem solving, including through imaginative play and storytelling’ (HSCS1.30).
