Recommendation 1

1. To further enhance children’s learning and wellbeing, the provider and manager should review and develop the outdoor environment to provide a wider range of engaging and challenging play experiences. Monitoring systems should be in place to ensure outdoor play opportunities are varied, accessible, and responsive to children’s interests and developmental needs. This should include, but is not limited to: Expanding loose parts play and other open-ended resources to encourage creativity, problem-solving, and curiosity. Introducing new outdoor resources and activities that reflect children’s current interests and developmental stages. Establishing systems to monitor, evaluate, and adapt outdoor resources and activities to reflect children’s interests and learning priorities.
