1. The service should actively engage children, families and staff in reviewing and updating its vision, values and aims. These should be clearly embedded in everyday practice and used to drive continuous improvement, reflecting the shared high aspirations for the service. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS), which state that: 'I can be meaningfully involved in how the organisations that support and care for me work and develop' (HSCS 4.6); and ‘I use a service and organisation that are well led and managed’ (HSCS 4.23).
2. To support children’s wellbeing and promote the continued development and improvement of the service the manager and staff team should ensure robust self-evaluation, quality assurance and auditing is taking place and is effective. This should be reviewed and monitored over time. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS), which state that: 'I benefit from a culture of continuous improvement, with the organisation having robust and transparent quality assurance processes' (HSCS 4.19); and ‘I experience stability in my care and support from people who know my needs, choices and wishes, even if there are changes in the service or organisation’ (HSCS 4.15).
Conditions of registration
Number(s) and Age(s) of person(s) to whom service may be provided:
To provide an early learning and childcare service to a maximum of 90 children at any one time aged from 3 years to 12 years.
Within the maximum number of 90 children;
no more than 50 children may be cared for at any one time at Pentland View Place Roslin EH25 9ND and;
no more than 40 children may be cared for at any one time at Roslin Primary School 8 Pentland View Place Roslin EH25 9ND.
Adult: child ratios will be a minimum of:
3 years and over 1:8 if the children attend more than 4 hours per day or;
1:10 if the children attend for less than 4 hours per day;
If all children are over 8 years old and over 1:10.
The manager of the service will be 100% supernumerary.
