1. To ensure children’s safety and wellbeing, the childminder should update their child protection and safeguarding training in line with current best practice and national guidance. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards which state: ‘I experience high quality care and support based on relevant evidence, guidance and best practice’ (HSCS 4.11)
1. To promote children’s appropriate use of technology the childminder should develop a policy with children to ensure the use of devices supports learning and wellbeing. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards which state: ‘I can choose to have an active life and participate in a range of recreational, social, creative, physical and learning activities every day, both indoors and outdoors’ (HSCS 1.25)
Conditions of registration
Maximum of 6 children up to the age of 12 years of whom no more than 3 children are not yet attending
school and of which no more than one child is under 1 year old. This includes the childminders own children.
Minded children cannot be cared for by persons other than those named on the Certificate.
