To ensure people experience a safe, comfortable and well maintained living environment, the provider should ensure timely completion of key refurbishments identified within the environmental plan, including upgrades and modernisation across different parts of the home. Timely completion and accurate recording of environmental tasks will help maintain high standards of safety, quality and accountability, ensuring residents benefit fully from a well maintained and consistently improving environment. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards, which state: “I experience an environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well maintained premises” (HSCS 5.22) and “My environment is safe and secure”. (HSCS 5.17)
