1. To ensure that people benefit from high quality facilities the provider should ensure that all areas of the service, including infrequently used areas such as shower rooms, are well maintained. To do this the provider should ensure that effective cleaning and maintenance takes place on a regular basis. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which states: “I experience an environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well maintained premises, furnishings and equipment”. (HSCS 5.22)
