1. To help ensure children are kept safe in an inviting, welcoming and clean setting, the provider should improve the maintenance and cleanliness of the environment. This should include, but not limited to, improving infection, prevention and control practices and ensuring garden fences are suitable and maintained. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'My environment is secure and safe' (HSCS 5.17) and 'I experience an environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well maintained premises, furnishings and equipment' (HSCS 5.22).

1. To ensure children experience a calm and relaxing mealtime that supports their independence, the provider should review mealtime routines. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: I can enjoy unhurried snack and meal times in as relaxed an atmosphere as possible (HSCS 1.35).
