1. To support children's health, wellbeing, and safety, the provider should ensure they are cared for in a clean and hygienic environment. This should include but not be limited to ensuring laundry is managed well, all areas have adequate ventilation, and food items are stored appropriately to minimise any spread of infection and cross-contamination. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'I experience an environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well maintained premises, furnishings and equipment' (HSCS 5.22).
