1. To promote people’s wellbeing, the manager should improve the care home setting. This includes, but is not limited to, developing and implementing an environmental improvement plan for one property, as discussed during the inspection. The plan should be informed by feedback from people living in the service and identify areas of improvement, outline specific actions, and include timescales for completion. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which states that: ‘I experience an environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well-maintained premises, furnishings and equipment’. (HSCS 5.24)

2. The service should maintain a high standard of infection prevention and control by ensuring that: a) Up to date guidance is available for all staff. b) All staff receive training in how to follow this guidance. This is to ensure infection control practices are in line with the Care Home Infection Prevention and Control manual. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that: 'My environment is secure and safe'. (HSCS 5.19)); and 'I experience an environment that is well looked after with clean, tidy and well-maintained premises, furnishings and equipment'. (HSCS 5.24).
