Requirements & recommendations
1. To protect young people and uphold their rights, the provider should ensure that all restrictive practice is carried out in line with best practice. This should include but is not limited to developing a clear search protocol including how the decision to search is made, recorded and reported. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that : 'If my independence, control and choice are restricted, this complies with relevant legislation and any restrictions are justified, kept to a minimum and carried out sensitively'. (HSCS 1.3).
2. To support young people's wellbeing, the provider should ensure that all transition from the service are given the time and consideration each young person needs. This should include but is not limited to, assessing and detailing moving on needs, plans in individual care plans. This is to ensure that care and support is consistent with the Health and Social Care Standards (HSCS) which state that : 'I am fully involved in assessing my emotional, psychological, social and physical needs at an early stage, regularly and when my needs change'. (HSCS 1.12) 'My future care and support needs are anticipated as part of my assessment'. (HSCS 1.14)
Conditions of registration
To provide a care service to a maximum of 5 children between the ages of 11 and 20 years.
From the 30 October 2023 until the 30 October 2024 the service may accommodate one additional person identified in the variation dated the 27 September 2023.
