Require entry of departure draughts in log books with strict enforcement

●Inquiry recommendation
There should be a requirement that the departure draughts must be entered in the deck log book as well as the Official Log book. The only practical way of enforcing such a rule would be for the Department to initiate random spot checks and for there to be heavy penalties for an infringement of the Regulations. The Court recommends that further consideration be given to this topic.

How this page is built
Source and Response are verbatim from primary documents. The Evidence trail records published activity since — written statements, consultation outcomes, inspection findings, parliamentary references. The Index does not paraphrase or characterise intent; it tracks what has been published. Where the evidence is the absence of action (a missed deadline, a slipped timetable), that absence is documented from primary sources rather than inferred.
This recommendation's data is verified periodically against primary sources. The Index is monitored for staleness weekly.
