Irene Hamilton-Parker

On 12 February 2015 commenced an investigation into the death of Irene HAMILTON-PARKER, aged 87 years. The investigation concluded at the end of the inquest on 6 2015. The conclusion of the inquest was Accidental death. CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE DEATH Mrs Hamilton-Parker died in the early hours of 1Oth February 2015 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. The previous evening she had been found in flames by her husband at their home in Uttoxeter. Death resulted from the burns she had sustained_ She had been attempting to light a cigarette using an inappropriate lighter and had set fire to some easily flammable clothing that she was wearing: CQRONER'S CONCERNS During the course of the inquest; the evidence revealed matters giving rise to concern. In my opinion there is a risk that future deaths will occur unless action is taken; In the circumstances it is my statutory duty to report to you.
