Conclusion (the committee's words)
The wider industry, including authors, illustrators, publishers and booksellers, bears a strong responsibility alongside government to play its part in getting more children reading for pleasure and sustaining their engagement. We were heartened to hear of their commitment and enthusiasm to being involved in initiatives such as the National Year of Reading, and hope that this continues long beyond this year.
