Inquiry scopeThe Department for Education is responsible for children’s services and education, including early years, schools, higher and further education policy, apprenticeships and wider skills in England. It is a ministerial department, supported by 18 agencies and public bodies and subject to scrutiny by the Education Select Committee. These regular Committee sessions with the Secretary of State will examine the policy, expenditure and administration across the remit of the Department for Education.
