The work of the Children’s Commissioner for England

The Office of the Children’s Commissioner for England is a non-departmental public body which acts with political independence from government and is responsible for promoting and protecting the rights of children. The Department for Education is the parent organisation of the Commissioner and the position is subject to annual scrutiny by the Education Committee.
