Inquiry scope (the committee's words)
The Education Committee has launched an inquiry into international students in English universities. The inquiry will examine the changes in numbers of international students in recent years, the impact of international students on university funding and availability of places for domestic students, and whether universities are achieving an appropriate balance between international and domestic students. The Committee will also look at recent and proposed changes to student visas and the Graduate Route to understand the impact of these changes on international student numbers, as well as the effectiveness of the Government’s International Education Strategy.
