Committee Report Appointment of the Chair of the Office for Students Appointment of the Chair of the Office for Students (PDF 290KB) Subject to the passage of the Higher Education and Research Bill , the Office for Students will combine the roles of the Higher Education Funding Council for England and the Office for Fair Access. The Committee considers Sir Michael's professional competence and personal independence as part of his suitability for the role. The Committee intends to set out its findings on Sir Michael's suitability for the post in a report ahead of a final decision on whether to proceed being made by the Secretary of State for Education.Reports
