The remit of the Prime Minister’s Special Representative is broad, with both domestic and international focus across a wide range of capabilities. If its functions are to be exercised effectively, it must be adequately supported by the Civil Service. The Government is grateful to the Committee for their recommendation to bolster the resources available for supporting the Prime Minister’s Special Representative on AUKUS. The Government continues to drive UK delivery through a renewed whole-of-government effort, supported by the Civil Service across departments. As of 2025, this now includes a centralised team in the National Security Secretariat in the Cabinet Office, with resources dedicated to supporting the Prime Minister’s Special Representative on AUKUS.
