Inquiry scope
The Committee will take evidence from experts on how the UK’s defence and security priorities in the Arctic and the High North. The session will explore how the geopolitics of the Arctic have evolved in recent years, particularly in light of growing tensions with Russia following its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The Committee will also hear how climate change might alter the security situation in the Arctic. Witnesses will be invited to discuss how the UK and its NATO allies can achieve their security objectives in the region, and whether the Armed Forces are suitably equipped to do so.Oral evidence sessions
