Gardens are a significant part of both domestic and international tourism in the UK and contribute to the UK’s international reputation and standing. The Committee is interested in exploring how gardens and garden design contribute to tourism, to the creative economy and to our national heritage.

- On the Tourism Data Hub, it "accepts" that the Hub "could help to measure the economic contribution of garden tourism", noting the Hub is "at an early stage of development".
- It does not accept a "UK Garden City" initiative, citing a risk of "confusion with City of Culture and other extant schemes" that "could dilute the positive impact" of those schemes.
- On including gardens in DCMS Economic Estimates, it "partially accepts" the recommendation, saying it does "not expect to be able to put the revised measures in place much before the end of 2021" and "will not commit to providing measures for any particular sector or subsector".
