Achieving Disability Confident status at any level should be made conditional upon the employer demonstrating that it has reached clearly defined thresholds for the percentage of its workforce that is disabled. This reporting should be subject to external audit, with an employer’s status being lost or downgraded after a year where these thresholds are not reached.
