Conclusion
The Access to Work programme has the potential to be transformational in supporting young disabled people to access and remain in work but its potential is not being realised. Poor awareness of the scheme, and delays in processing applications, are preventing it from supporting as many disabled people as it could. We, therefore, welcome the new Government’s commitment to reducing the delays in application process.
