Recommendation 27

We welcome the Government’s steps to make flexibilities around maths and English requirements accessible to people without an Education, Health and Care Plan. The Government should launch a campaign to clearly communicate the new criteria, promote apprenticeships to employers and training providers and incentivise employers to take on disabled apprentices, and should monitor the number of young disabled people starting apprenticeships due to these changes in eligibility criteria.
