Select Committee · Public Services Committee

Access to public services for the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities

Status: Closed Opened: 25 Jan 2022 Closed: 18 Sep 2024
Inquiry scopeThe committee investigates how access to critical public services such as health and education can be improved for the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities. It will examine the actions that have been taken in the past years to tackle inequalities of access to public services for these communities, and whether these actions have been sufficient. The session will reflect on the deep-rooted causes of poor health and education outcomes for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, particularly in light of the additional challenges caused by the context of Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic.
