Conclusion
The first of these is through contracts for âCommissioned Rehabilitative Servicesâ (CRSs) which are centralised at national level and cover six different pathways (Womenâs Services; Personal Wellbeing Services; Finance, Benefits, and Debt; Dependency and Recovery; Education, Training, and Employment Services; and Accommodation Services). 305 Kim Thornden-Edwards told us that HMPPS have over 200 suppliers from the private or voluntary and community sector which are qualified to bid for contracts, and a total of 133 contracts with suppliers to deliver services locally. 306 Many of these contracts are due to expire in March 2024 but can be extended by HMPPS by up to one year. They are worth £348 million with extensions, or £242 million without extensions. 307
