The UK-Norway Fisheries Framework Agreement ( CP 308 ), published by the UK Government on 19 October, is being scrutinised under the Constitutional Reform and Governance Act 2010 by the International Agreements Sub-Committee and the EU Environment Sub-Committee . Following Brexit, the existing EU-Norway Fisheries Agreement, which had previously governed the UK’s fisheries relationship with Norway, needs to be replaced. North Sea stocks will now need to be jointly managed by the UK, Norway and the EU in a trilateral relationship. This concluded bilateral Framework Agreement between the UK and Norway is intended to help secure continued fishing opportunities for the UK’s fishing fleet. Separately, discussions between the UK, Norway and the EU are taking place to establish trilateral governance arrangements.
