Recommendation 9

9 Acknowledged

Task Acas with leading an information campaign to promote good employment practice compliance.

Recommendation
We recognise that there are a significant number of new employment rights that employers will need to understand and implement. We therefore call on the Government to consider how they use networks of employment support, both statutory and voluntary, to support employers in the implementation. We recommend that the Government task Acas with leading an information campaign to raise awareness of and promote compliance with good employment practice. (Recommendation, Paragraph 49) Collective rights
Government Response Summary
The government states it will consult on implementation details and ensure sufficient support, recognizing Acas as a valuable partner with whom it is already working closely, but does not explicitly commit to tasking Acas with leading an information campaign.
Government Response Acknowledged
HM Government Acknowledged
The Government wants workers and employers to feel the benefit of these reforms as soon as they come into force, which will require high levels of awareness, understanding, and compliance. The Government is committed to consulting thoroughly on the detail of implementation, and will ensure that sufficient time and support is provided to adapt to changes ahead of their commencement. We recognise that successful implementation will require close collaboration with a wide range of partners across sectors. Acas will be a valuable partner in this, and we are already working closely with Acas, employers, trade unions, and others to ensure rollout is a success.
