Conclusion (the committee's words)
It has not yet delivered a national injury database, a comprehensive registration and recall hub, or indelible marking for electrical goods. Their absence leaves a hole in the UK’s product safety system and questions the ability of OPSS to move beyond scoping and consultation to enact meaningful changes. We look forward to the Government’s review and consultation on the OPSS. As the Minister has promised, this should seriously consider making it an independent and fully transparent body, placing the consumer at the heart of its decision making.
