Conclusion
The National Wealth Fund provides vital support to maturing UK companies, with its ability to make large investments into firms that need considerable funds to scale up their operations. This support, however, is focused on Industrial Strategy priority sectors, unlike the British Business Bank which aims to broaden access to finance across all firms. It is not clear that the National Wealth Fund has the resources, or the requisite risk appetite, to provide the large-scale investments that many growing UK firms need. (Conclusion, Paragraph 169)
