The Government should assess the scale of the pipeline of ‘term-sheet ready’ investment propositions that now needs to be developed to absorb the potential scale of new pension fund-led investment. The Office for Investment should work proactively with departments, Mayoral Strategic Authorities (MSA) and local authorities to develop this pipeline, where necessary seconding staff to departments, MSA’s and local councils to help boost the capacity needed to develop these proposals. The Government 121 should within six months publish a pipeline of term-sheet ready propositions categorised by sector, region and scale, and should update this annually.
