The government accepts the Committee’s recommendation. In line with government ambitions, the need for hydrogen in our energy system is set out in section 3.4 of EN-1. As noted above in the government’s response to Recommendation 4, we have updated the draft EN-1 to reflect the BESS, Net Zero Strategy, Hydrogen Strategy, and government’s ambitions for Hydrogen and CCUS. The structure of the NPSs means this reads across to EN-2 and as such amendments to EN-2 are not needed.
