Government programmes should also provide scaleups with a clear, comprehensible pathway of support along their growth journey. Consideration should be given to how to minimise administrative hurdles, for example by streamlining application processes for subsequent funding for companies that have already passed rigorous checks as part of earlier successful public funding bids.
