The Environment Agency provides a ‘parallel track’ for planning and permitting regimes for large or complicated proposals or those where a significant impact on a protected habitat or species is likely. 237 Parallel tracking is standard for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, with permits, and development consent issued concurrently.
