Recommendation
We welcome the Government taking steps to address the funding shortfall in local authority planning departments. The Government should complete its proposed fees review within the next 12 months to provide greater long-term certainty for planning departments and applicants. The proposed skills and resources strategy should be published by the end of 2023.
