The previous Government’s ‘funding simplification doctrine’ is a sensible approach and should be expanded to all local authorities in receipt of more than one funding stream seeking to revive high streets and town centres. This should be introduced for the next financial year and be a core tenet of any local growth funding reform. Resource funding and expertise
