Inquiry scope
The Built Environment Committee has launched an inquiry into the future of modern methods of construction (MMC). To increase housing supply and meet its 300,000 homes a year target, the Government has stated that we need a diversified housing market which embraces innovation, including MMC. However, MMC manufacturers have faced major challenges over the past year and a number of companies have gone into administration or halted production. This inquiry seeks to understand the barriers to the increased delivery of MMC homes and to what extent the Government’s approach to supporting MMC development is effectively overcoming and resolving these barriers.
