Conclusion
Health promotion and health protection go hand in hand. Ongoing actions to improve the health of the UK population and to strengthen the national health and social care system will decrease the impact of biological risks that materialise. Safeguarding the UK’s high-quality domestic systems will also enable a more confident and credible role in leading the global health security agenda.
