Recommendation
The Government’s own climate change risk assessment notes that early adaptation efforts deliver high value for money. We recommend that the Government undertakes a more detailed cost-benefit analysis of climate adaptation for every CNI sector, using the results to inform the resilience standards recommended in Chapter 3. It should also consider a more wide-ranging review into the economics of adaptation, as recommended by the Environment Agency.
