UK Border 2020: preparedness
Status: Closed
Opened: 22 Oct 2020
Closed: 25 Mar 2021
Inquiry scope
On 31 January 2020, the United Kingdom left the European Union, and the “transition period” ends at the end of this year. The current rules relevant to the UK border, including on trade, travel and business for the UK and EU continue to apply during the transition period, but the government has been preparing for when the UK–EU relationship changes. The Committee will question senior officials at the Cabinet Office, HMRC and the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, on the government’s preparedness at the border for the end of the transition period . If you have evidence on these issues please submit it here by 6.00pm Friday 13 November.Oral evidence sessions
