Inquiry scope
Following our major report earlier this year on progress on the High Speed 2 rail project the Committee will “recall” the Department for Transport Permanent Secretary, Bernadette Kelly, and Director General of the Department’s Rail Group, Ruth Hannant, for questions on progress since our report and on other major transport policy developments, including: - Progress on Crossrail - Rail franchising and the effective renationalisation of the UK’s rail system - Support for the aviation industry, especially in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the fallout from the collapse of travel company Thomas Cook - The £2.4bn A303 Stonehenge tunnel plans recently delayed by an archaeological find near the site If you have evidence on any of these issues that could inform the Committee’s inquiry please submit it here by Friday 9 October.Oral evidence sessions
