Inquiry scope
The Committee will question senior officials at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on a range of environmental protection issues. Questioning will follow up on previous inquiries on waste crime including the increasing involvement of criminal gangs; dangerous breaches of air quality ; water supply , sewage discharges and protection of rivers; and the Environmental Land Management Scheme introduced to replace the EU Common Agricultural Policy after Brexit.
