DfE Recall: SEND Review, Schools White Paper and the National Tuition Programme

Inquiry scope

In March the Committee reported concerns that the Department for Education’s (DfE) reliance on national figures that indicate schools are in reasonable financial health is masking “significant variation and challenges for individual schools”, and that some of the steps schools have taken to maintain their finances have adversely affected children’s education. The Committee will question senior officials at DfE on the long delayed SEND review, the White Paper and the pandemic “catchup” programme that was recently overhauled with funding shifted away from the contracted provider direct to schools.
