Recommendation 30

A more structured system should be established to ensure strong collaboration between Government and Parliament...
Conclusion
A more structured system should be established to ensure strong collaboration between Government and Parliament in taking timely action to resolve human rights violations. Following a declaration of incompatibility, the responsible Minister should write to the Committee setting out his proposed timetable and method for addressing that incompatibility. The Committee can then consider and agree that timetable with the Government, and can then help to hold both Government and other actors to account in taking timely action to address such violations.
